Maha shivaratri Festival in Kathmandu City

Maha Shivaratri is one of the biggest and major festival which is celebrated annually in honor of Lord Shiva in Nepal where the Hindus are in big numbers. Literally Shivaratri means “Night of the Shiva” During this festival Maha Shivaratri million of peoples, devotes, holy person gather around the Pashupatinath Temple where they worship, celebrate with their special dance, and they burn fire. To offer the God Shiva a lot of marijuana and Weed was smoked this festival is especially dedicated to god Shiva. Shiva is one of the major gods in Hinduism. We can see the lot of crowd from the world. There is the public holiday in this festival. From early morning to till evening the environment is full of celebration. As Mahashivaratri is mainly related with the night, The devotees stay up all the night and pray to lord Shiva. In Night there are beautiful lighting that will reflect. Devotees chant “Om Nama Shivay” and “Mahamritunjaya” You will see the color of light too. We can see some Sadhus are covered with ashes and some completely naked that will define the colorful crowd of gorgeous sadhus from different part of Nepal. The road is to jam. You can see the devotee and so many people. This day is also known as one of the precious day compare to the other day in Nepal.
